Some of the dominant academic approaches to Muslim politics continue assume centrality Islam on question religion’s relationship state and possibility successful democracy in Muslim-majority states. On one hand, based findings from large N-surveys, some scholars have argued that most Muslims many states desire a political ‘third model’ is neither secular nor theocratic. Instead, they want public role for shari’a Islam. However, this literature does not fully explain what such third model would mean certain individual rights practice. It also assumes normative position tends favour or another version ‘Islamic’ democracy. other form possible. Both views reinterpretation religious resources crucial achieve desired ends. This ‘reformist approach’ seriously consider implications servicing Islam, even its more reformist forms, Through combination theoretical arguments in-depth interviews conducted Maldives, article argues plurality viewpoints underlying reasonings those among ordinary people suggest necessity move ‘beyond Islam’. As such, an alternative discursive democratisation approach considers takes discourses neutrally without privileging can be capacious. Instead fixating particular religion–state type discourse (e.g., Islamic), points democratic possibilities how religion–politics nexuses may shaped reshaped through contestations within spheres as Maldives.

Is there Elite to Elite family relation based on ideological united or common interests? Network boundary is the political elites who have kinshi...
متن کاملRelations among Fixed Points
Let M be a smooth manifold with a circle action, and {P } be the fixed point sets. The problem I want to discuss in this paper is how to get the topological information of one relatively complicated fixed point set, say P 0 , from the other much simpler fixed points. Such problems are interesting in symplectic geometry and geometric invariant theory, especially in the study of moduli spaces. In...

We introduce the concept of kinetic or rate equations for moving defects representing a natural extension of the more conventional notion of a kinetic relation. Algebraic kinetic relations, widely used to model dynamics of dislocations, cracks and phase boundaries, link the instantaneous value of the velocity of a defect with an instantaneous value of the driving force. The new approach general...
متن کاملBeyond kinetic relations
In this paper we discuss a new concept of a constitutive kinetic equation which represents a quasicontinuum analog of the conventional continuum mechanical concept of a kinetic relation. Kinetic relations link the velocity of the defect with the driving force and are widely used to model dynamical response of dislocations, cracks and phase boundaries. To illustrate the difference between kineti...
